Project Background
A certain biological company in Zhejiang mainly engages in the production of amino acids. Amino acids, as an important biological active substance, are widely used in the fields of food, medicine, and cosmetics. During the production process, the amino acid solution needs to be efficiently concentrated to meet the requirements of subsequent packaging and transportation. The traditional evaporation process has high energy consumption and low efficiency, making it difficult to meet the needs of modern production. In order to improve production efficiency, reduce energy consumption, and ensure product quality, the company introduced a three-effect plate
evaporator system and selected 316 stainless steel as the main material to ensure the corrosion resistance and operational stability of the equipment.
Process Flow
• Pre-treatment:
• Filtration and impurity removal: The amino acid solution is first passed through a filtration device to remove suspended solids and large particles of impurities, ensuring the stable operation of the subsequent evaporation system.
• Adjusting pH value: Based on the characteristics of the amino acid solution, appropriately adjust the pH value to ensure the stability of the evaporation process.
• Three-effect plate-type evaporation system:
• Single-effect evaporation: The amino acid solution is introduced into the
Single-effect Evaporator. The solution is heated to boiling point by the heating steam, and the resulting secondary steam then enters the second-effect evaporator.
• Two-effect evaporation: The secondary steam continues to heat the solution in the two-effect evaporator, further concentrating it. The resulting steam then enters the three-effect evaporator.
• Three-effect evaporation: The three-effect evaporator uses low-temperature steam to continue evaporating the solution, gradually concentrating the amino acid solution to the target concentration (8%).
• Condensation and Recovery:
• Condensate water recovery: The condensate water generated during the evaporation process is treated and then reused in the production process, thereby reducing wastewater discharge.
• Secondary steam recovery: The secondary steam is condensed into water through the condenser, and then further utilized to enhance energy efficiency.
Technical advantages

Compared to the traditional single-effect evaporation process, the energy-saving effect can reach 30% to 50%.
